Celebrating National School Sports Week

National School Sports Week takes place every June with the aim of championing 60 minutes a day of PE, sport, and play. Schools across the UK come together to celebrate the power of sport in the lives of children and young people.

This year at Bloxham Primary School, we are raising the profile of PE and Being Active throughout the week commencing 8th July, culminating with a visit from a World Medallist Gymnast, Courtney Tulloch.

During the week, pupils will be encouraged to complete an Active Diary which will be talked about in our Sports Week assembly.

Plan for the week:

Monday 8th July – Assembly led by Sports Reps for Key Stage 2 (KS2)

Tuesday 9th July – Sports Day at 9:15-11:15 for KS2 and 1:15-3pm for Key Stage 1 (KS1)

Wednesday 10th July – Sports Reps to create Active Stations on the playground/field with activities for children to choose from

Thursday 11th July – Courtney Tulloch, Gymnast visiting school for a whole-school assembly followed by sponsored exercises.

Active Stations at lunchtime.

Friday 12th July – Active Stations at lunchtime
